Vacaville California is a small town about an hour north of San Francisco (with out traffic that is) that has gone through many changes over the years. What started as a small farming town has now grown significantly over the past 20+ years to be a Northern Suburb of San Francisco. With the new train stop opening up even closer the growth is only likely to continue.

What hasn't changed in all those years are some of the beloved institutions in town like the Italian Restaurant Pietro's #1. They just celebrated their 60 year anniversary this past April. Over the six decades they have been in business they have been serving up classic Italian American fare in the quaint downtown of Vacaville.

Having partially grown up in Vacaville and having celebrated quite a few family birthdays and holidays at Pietro's #1 over the years I enjoyed coming back to photograph some dishes in celebration of their Anniversary. The dishes I photographed were The 3 Meatballs Appetizer, Cheese Pepperoni and Olive Pizza, Shrimp Scampi and the Salami and Cheese Sandwich.
